Kids like Nuts


Kids like nuts, which are terrific for a snack on the go, in a bag of trail mix, in a salad or in a sauce for a main dish. A bowl of organic nuts and a nut cracker makes an attractive table decoration, an available snack, and keeps the nuts fresh. What is nice about eating peanuts in the shell is that kids will eat them slowly. A handful of nuts, like almonds, cashews, hazelnuts and walnuts, contain everything needed for a healthy mind and body. Eating nuts is a good for losing weight as they have protein, fiber, heart healthy fats, antioxidants, lots of vitamins, and omega-3. Studies have shown that more weight is lost when eating nuts during a diet. Overweight kids can burn extra fat by eating a handful of nuts every day. Each nut is an all natural preventive medicine, hearty and filling, with rich flavors. Different kinds of nut have a different blend and proportions of nutrients. Almonds are high in protein and magnesium, which aids blood flow. Kids can make almond milk by pouring almonds in a blender with pure water. Hazelnuts protect cells from free radicals and are heart healthy. Walnuts are high in omega-3, fight inflammation, and help induce sleep. Cashews help protect bones and skin and the creamy texture makes a delicious cream sauce. Research has shown peanuts reduce the risk of colon cancer and make a tasty smooth sauce over noodles featured in many Thai recipes. In a nutshell, kids that eat nuts are thinner, happier and healthier.
