Kids can make delectable healthy lemonades mixed with herbs to substitute for processed sugary drinks. Pediatric studies across the country show a significant improvement in health when families cut these sugary drinks from their diets. Kids love homemade drinks with fresh herbs mixed with citrus fruits. Dwarf fruit trees are attractive additions to the front door, producing lots of delicious treats and smelling sweet. Kid Chefs can have a Lemonade Stand with three flavors of lemonade. Kids can sweeten the lemonade with organic stevia, organic raw agave nectar, organic raw honey, or organic turbinado raw cane sugar. Kids can fill one pitcher with 4 cups of pure water and ½ cup fresh squeezed organic lemon juice with a sweetener of choice to taste. Another pitcher is filled with 4 cups of pure water, ¼ cup lemon juice, one cup fresh squeezed organic orange juice, sweetener, and fresh mint leaves. Kid Chefs can infuse hibiscus, rosehips, and lemongrass with 4 cups of boiling water and steep 10 minutes before pouring into a pitcher with ¼ cup lemon juice and honey to taste and cool. A lemonade stand is fun to have at a party, a school or community event, or a kid’s front yard. Kids can create colorful signs for each pitcher listing the ingredients and health benefits. Guests are always delighted with fresh lemonade. A Healthy Kid Lemonade Stand can introduce friends, family and community to a fun alternative to processed sugary drinks.
