Healthy Tea Sandwiches


Kids enjoy eating small tea sandwiches for lunch, snack, or afternoon tea. Using a cookie cutter, kids can create fun shapes on different kinds of organic whole grain bread, pita bread, tortillas, flat bread and even waffles. Kids like many herbal teas, hot and cold. Chamomile, peppermint, fresh squeezed lemon juice, and honey make a delicious herbal infusion. It is fun for kids to choose pretty little cups and plates and even invite a friend. Edible flowers, like nasturtiums, can decorate a plate or can be filled with organic cream cheese and chopped nuts. Finger sandwiches with organic whole wheat bread with almond butter and honey, chopped dates and walnuts mixed with cream cheese on banana bread, hummus, feta cheese, and olives in tiny pita pockets or waffles with cream cheese, maple syrup and strawberries make delectable treats for any get together, snack or lunch box.
