Kids love to eat what they bake. Kid Chefs can make this yummy treat using organic ingredients, fresh local apples and whole grains without preservatives, additives, or sprays. Mix in a small bowl, ¼ cup raisins, ¼ cup apple sauce, and let stand 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 350. In a large bowl mix 1 cup organic wheat pastry flour, ½ cup old fashioned rolled oats, 1 tablespoon cinnamon, 2 tbsp sugar and 1 ½ tsp baking powder. Coat 1 ½ cups fresh Granny Smith apples, peeled and chopped with the flour and then add ½ cup almond milk and 1 tsp maple syrup. Melt 2 tbsp organic butter in an 8” square pan, coating the sides of the pan. Mix the butter, raisins and apple sauce with the flour and spread evenly into the baking pan. Bake 20-25 minutes, let cool, and cut into 16 squares.
