Kids can make their bath time a special treat or make gifts for friends and family with their own Herb Bath Mix. When planning an herb garden kids can include herbs for cooking, herbs beneficial for pest control, and herbs for aromatherapy. Some herbs do all three functions. Kids can create an herb garden in the backyard, on the patio, or in a sunny kitchen window. When the garden is established, kids can trim the herbs, tie the stems together, and hang them upside down to dry for a week in a cool dark spot, like the pantry. Dried herbs can be used in making a relaxing, fragrant bath soak mix. Mix one cup each of dried Chamomile, Rosemary, Peppermint, Lavender, and Rose petals. Put ¼ cup of the herbal mix in a 4” square of muslin and sew the edges together. Kids can drop the bag of herbal bath mix under the hot water as the bath tub fills and enjoy a soak in the renewing waters.
