Kids Weight Loss


Kids needing to lose weight can start by eating simple, healthy food made from scratch. Fresh organic fruit, scrubbed clean, can be eaten with their nutrient rich skins to help flush out the toxins from the processed foods that is stored in fat cells. Steamed fresh organic veggies can be added to organic whole wheat pasta with olive oil and Parmesan cheese for a meal without the sodium, preservatives, and saturated fats of processed foods. By using fresh herbs, spices, and healthy oils, kids can taste the natural flavors of the food. When kids grow a veggie garden in their backyard, they are excited to eat what they have grown. Overweight kids need to drink lots of water, instead of soft drinks, sweetened juices, and sodas, to rid their bodies of toxins. Pediatricians say just switching water for soda is a major victory for kids and their families. Cravings for the unhealthy food disappear as the old toxins leave the body. As the toxins disappear, the fat cells needed for their storage also disappear. Eating several small healthy meals a day, like hummus with veggies, triggers the metabolism to burn calories faster. A slow metabolism, instead of turning the food into energy, stores it as fat. Eating nitrogen rich alkalizing green vegetables, high glycemic fruit, whole grains, and healthy fats (like avocados, nuts, olive oil) vitalizes the metabolism to burn fat, build muscle, and grow healthy kids. Kids get exercise and incentive to eat healthy, when they grow their own fruit and veggies in the backyard or patio. Kids can lose weight by eating lots of fresh organic fruit and veggies in five or six small meals during the day and drinking lots of water.
