Making cookies fills the house with delicious smells and delightful treats. Kids agree that home made cookies taste better and are healthier than any store bought cookie. Kids love to decorate them and share them with friends and family. Kids can mix with a fork ½ cup softened organic butter and ¼ cup sugar until creamy in a bowl. Mix ½ tsp arrowroot starch and 2 tbsp water in a small bowl and add to the butter and sugar. Slowly add 1 ½ cups flour, 1 tsp vanilla, ¼ tsp sea salt and 1 tsp baking powder and mix until the dough is blended. Shape the dough into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap, and put in the refrigerator for an hour. Preheat the oven 350 degrees. Place the chilled dough on a lightly floured bread board and roll ¼ “thick with a floured rolling pin. Cut heart shapes with a cookie cutter and place 1 inch apart on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes and let cool. Melt ½ cup semisweet chocolate chips and ½ tsp coconut oil in a bowl over boiling water and remove from heat. Dip cookies in the melted chocolate and place on parchment paper to set, making about 2 dozen cookies.
