Kids can grow cabbages in the fall garden that look like flowers amid plantings of kale and spinach leaves. Cabbage has been known for thousands of years as a miracle food for good health as it improves digestion, detoxifies the stomach and upper colon, kills bacteria and viruses, and stimulates the immune system. Nutritionists agree that eating a rainbow of raw organic veggies fresh from the garden is a panacea for good health. Kids can make this salad and store it without dressing in the refrigerator for several days. Kids can use all organic ingredients, putting 2 cups chopped of cabbage, 1 cup baby kale, 1 shredded carrot, 1/8 cup minced red bell pepper, and ¼ cup minced red onion in a small bowl. Mix the veggies with finely cut sprigs of fresh basil, mint, rosemary, oregano, and thyme. Serve with slices of organic Bartlett pear, organic extra virgin olive oil, organic balsamic vinegar, and sea salt for a power packed salad.
