Kid Chef Fruit Shake

IMG_3453

Kids can start the day with a vita pack of nutrition by mixing fresh fruit in the blender for a powerhouse shake. Kids can get organic in season fruit at their local farmers market.  Or in the morning as the sun touches the fruit on the trees, kids can pick fruit from their organic patio garden.  Pediatricians agree that the best thing kids can do to improve their nutrition is to cut sodas from their diet and drink 8 to 10 glasses of water a day. Whole organic fruits are rich in fiber, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Fresh from the garden fruits blended in a shake are filled with vitamins and energy to start the day and are a wonderful replacement for soda anytime. Fruit shakes are most delicious and nutritious the first few minutes after being blended. Frozen organic bananas make a delicious sweet ice cream and are wonderful mixed with other fruits. Kids can peal ripe bananas, break them in half, and put them in a plastic bag in the freezer.  Kids can create fruit shakes using their favorite in season fruits with a frozen banana. For the shake pictured here, kids can put ½ cup organic raspberries, ½ frozen banana in the blender with ½ cup mango juice and enjoy a delicious nutritious treat. Kid Chefs can blend their favorite ingredients together and create their own shakes for a healthy power packed snack any time of day.
