Kid Chef Cauliflower Pasta Sauce

Kids that are just learning to cook can prepare this easy to make pasta sauce to wow their folks. Cauliflower and peas are a great flavor combination, as well as a nutritional powerhouse. Cauliflower is high in B vitamins, antioxidants, protein, and fiber and peas are filled with heart healthy minerals, protein, vitamin K, and antioxidants.

Kids can choose their favorite organic pasta, like the ravioli in the picture above, and boil it in a pot of salted water according to the package directions. Kids can wash and chop 12 oz of organic cauliflower and put it in a steamer with 2 cloves organic garlic for 7 – 10 minutes. Pour the veggies in the blender with 1 tsp organic extra virgin olive oil and ½ tsp sea salt. Kids can continue to blend until it is very smooth.

Using the same steamer pot, add ¼ cup organic green peas and steam 5 minutes. Kids can cut sprigs of parsley, oregano, and sage fresh from the garden. Kids can add the peas and herbs to the sauce. Cauliflower pasta sauce is thick and creamy with a yummy garlic flavor and makes a tasty dish when poured over pasta.
