Kids use the Spiralizer

IMG_2794

The new kitchen tool craze is a fun and delicious way for kids to eat their veggies using the Spiralizer. Kids love to watch the vegetables magically turn into noodles. Kids can become addicted to healthy low calorie veggie spaghetti instead of clamoring for processed chips, ketchup, and fried foods filled with chemicals. Veggies can be made into pasta with one of several spiralizers on the market. The best veggies to use are fresh local organic zucchini, carrots, cucumbers, beets, squash, and potatoes. After kids have mastered using the spiralizer, it takes only 30 seconds to make zucchini noodles and 2 to 3 minutes to cook them. Kids can add their favorite sauce, such as: marinara, garlic and extra virgin olive oil, pesto, or extra virgin coconut oil and soy sauce. Kids can add protein rich beans and other veggies to thicken the sauce. Noodles made from various colorful veggies present a lovely party dish at any holiday event.
